Chelsea is my confidant and my other half. She is hands down one of the most amazing, loyal, caring, giving and smartest people I know.  She is always finding a new crazy thing to get involved with whether it be academic, philanthropic or social. Always up for an adventure, we have had the opportunity to travel the world together from Europe to Costa Rica and everything in between. Although we have done it all, some of our most amazing times together have been at home hanging in the Jacuzzi. I always look forward to our lengthy phone conversations where I can count on her for anything from the best advice to laughing so hard my stomach hurts. I am so lucky to be able to call her my sister but even luckier to have her as my best friend.

Becky and I met at the beginning of Freshman year, although our friendship truly gained momentum as we shared the painful and sleepless experience of Li Wen’s spring studio.  Becky introduced me to the life mantra - “work hard, play harder.”  She always knows when and how to put together a killer celebration and constantly manages to surround herself with people who are ready to have a good time.  She is one of the most down to earth and caring people I know; ready to lend an ear to anything you might want to discuss and consistently offers up amazing reassurance.  You can’t help but feel comfortable around Becky and even while just relaxing on the sofa you have a blast with her.   Although she is a woman of many talents, I would have to say her life calling is perfecting the jello shot and her successful experimentations have led to many memorable new years celebrations and will surely lead to countless more!

Beth and I also met our freshman year in architecture, although our friendship began slowly and it was initially more a convenience allowed by shared social circles.  Beth is the type of person that you go with to a party and regardless of how much you aren’t into the idea, she will not allow you to not have a good time.  Fast-forward to a few hours and tequila shots later and it is the best time you have ever had! She is always up for an adventure whether it be dancing the night away, a random hiking session, a spontaneous nacho run or a movie night in with a bottle of red wine. We share a passion for good architecture, shopping at Anthropology and the beauty of Michael Vartan. Although going out is always memorable, some of our most fun times have been weekends at the Halprin household, hanging out in the Jacuzzi after filling up on a huge meal and a homemade batch of margaritas. Beth is one of the most honest people I know and will always offer up true and invaluable advice even if it might not be what you want to hear at the time. I am so thankful that I have been lucky enough to have her in my life and that we have been able to share so many escapades together!

Caitlin claims the title of being my oldest friend, and like all good things, our friendship has just gotten better with age. Over the years, Caitlin has become more than a friend and is truly more like my sister.  Our families have shared countless crazy memories from road trips all over the US to Hawaiian vacations, and in true Halprin and Millian fashion we make it a point to find the strangest and often most extraordinary activities.  I could never have asked for a better person to share the back seat with and of course commiserate on how we were blessed with such insane parents!  We have already filled our friendship with enough laughs and fun times to last a lifetime, but I am so excited to be able to look forward to her “world-renowned” stories for decades to come!

Jen was the first person I met at USC. From orientation to architecture and then sorority rush we kept ending up in the same circles and it was as if our friendship was meant to be! We spent our first semester inseparable and from then on have shared a friendship that will last a lifetime.  From our shared love for good wine, chocolate, Italian food, art and books, to living together and all our Theta adventures, we have shared some amazing times. Jen has also been there from the get go of Aaron’s and my relationship and has been such an integral part of our time together. She is not only one of the most caring and genuine people I know, but the best partner in crime a girl could ask for.

Mel and I have been friends since our freshman year of architecture school at USC, and although I have only known her 8 years, I feel like she has known me my whole life.  Our fun times in college often included long nights in studio, country music, summer fun in Irvine, and living together our last year of school.  After school we found ourselves both living in New York and from there our friendship has become one that I could never live without! She is the most loyal and amazing friend anyone could ever ask for and never ceases to amaze me with her generosity.  Between cooking and wine, beers at Jake’s, summer afternoons in the park and winter game nights we are always having a good laugh and an amazing time.  She was a huge part of Aaron’s and my relationship and the engagement never would have happened without her stealthy planning.  I always look forward to her Monday morning emails of what crazy activities we should do in the coming week and I am so lucky that I have been able to share so many amazing life experiences with her.

Our friendship began as a bond to survive the long weekends of the Jewish high school experience that was Adat Noar.  We formed a very quick and strong connection and soon became inseparable to the point that people actually had problems telling us apart and gave us our very own title of the “Rachel and Harper Show.”  After losing touch for a few years, we found ourselves living six blocks away from each other in New York and as soon as we sat down for a 3 hour coffee catch-up it was as if we never were apart.  The past three years have been a whirlwind of good times from learning to be domestic for both Jewish holidays and thanksgivings to just hanging out on a Friday night. In recent months we have also been able to bond over everything wedding as we have simultaneously been planning together.  Aaron and I are so lucky to have shared so many special times with Rachel and Tom and are looking forward to many more!

Shayda could be in a room with any number of people and manage to keep everyone entertained while having a conversation with herself without batting an eye.  She has the most amazing ability to make a mundane conversation into the best talk you have ever had and always makes everyone feel loved and welcome!  She might be small, but watch out because boy does she pack a punch.  I have been lucky enough to have an ongoing friendship with her from the fourth grade and it has never been a dull moment!  We share an undying passion for food and eating and can usually be found spending days shopping to fill the time between meals.  She knows every part of my life from the mundane to the extraordinary and makes a point to make each part important.  She has been with me through celebrations, heartache and everything in between and I couldn’t have asked for a better person to come along!
